RSHE Consultation
RSHE Consultation for Sept 2026
The Department for Education has introduced new relationships, sex and health education (RSHE) guidance, which we’re required to follow from 1 September 2026. This sits within our PSHE curriculum, which gives young people the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and practical skills to live safe, healthy, productive lives, meeting their full potential.
Therefore, I am writing to let you know that we have been reviewing our curriculum and have made some tweaks, which I wanted to share with you. We have ensured our RSHE provision remains appropriate for our pupils based on their:
● Age
● Physical and emotional maturity
● Religious and cultural backgrounds
● Special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as complementing our PSHE curriculum.
All PSHE teaching takes place in a safe learning environment and is underpinned by our school ethos and values.
We use the 3D PSHE & Citizenship Dimensions Curriculum to ensure coverage of all statutory areas.
Please see the draft RSHE policy for you to view below, which shows curriculum coverage in Appendix 1. We would welcome feedback to admin@stapeleybl.cheshire.sch.uk by 16.6.26.
