OUR CHRISTIAN VISION

VISION STATEMENT

Our pupils are:

  • Successful and ambitious
  • Bold in actions
  • Loving in relationships

I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM WHO STRENGTHENS ME.  PHILIPPIANS 4:13

MISSION STATEMENT

Stapeley Broad Lane CE Primary School is a school ‘where children matter most’.

ETHOS

Stapeley Broad Lane is a friendly, close-knit school with a strong sense of community. We are proud of our traditions and history, while simultaneously being forward-looking and highly ambitious for every child who attends our school.

We provide a welcoming, safe and supportive environment with Christian values and inclusion central to all we do.

In partnership with families, our pupils are happy, well-rounded individuals who have a love of learning through which they make excellent progress and achieve highly.

OUR AIM IS FOR CHILDREN TO BE:

  • Confident and positive individuals with an understanding and knowledge of Christian values based on a developed sense of spiritual awareness
  • Responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society
  • Adaptable individuals in an ever-changing world
  • Life-long learners who achieve their maximum potential

CHURCH LINKS

Stapeley Broad Lane has Church of England Controlled Status. This means the school functions in  partnership with the Church, with its Christian ethos being central to the school. We teach the Local  Authority's Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. The school and its staff also receive valuable support from the Board of Education at the Diocese of Chester.

Worship at daily school assemblies is linked with the doctrines of the Church of England. As a Church of England school, emphasis is placed upon the acquisition of knowledge and understanding of the beliefs and practices of Christianity in particular, as well as other world religions. All pupils are encouraged to respect the beliefs and values of others and to express their own opinions in a thoughtful and reflective way.

ST CHAD'S CHURCH, WYBUNBURY

Rev Alison Fulford is the vicar at St Chad's Church. She works closely with us and regularly leads Collective Worship. We also have a number of other regular visitors, including the Open Book team and Chris Gilbert (the Art & Soul man).

As a Church School, we are very proud of our links with St Chad's which, due to its location in Wybunbury, is not easily accessible from school. However, our staff and children visit for special assemblies and services (Easter and Christmas). Please click here to access St Chad's website.

ST MARY'S CHURCH, NANTWICH

We also visit St Mary's Church in the centre of Nantwich for special school-specific services, including at Easter and Christmas. Our KS2 choir have performed at the NSPCC Carol Service for the past few years, supporting this charity to raise funds to continue it's important work, particularly in schools. Our Y2 children visit the church as part of their study of Nantwich. St Mary's is a very impressive building and well worth a visit. Please click here to access St Mary's website.

WORSHIP COUNCIL

Each year, we appoint two children from each class to our Worship Council. During 2017/18, they  met with one of our Foundation Governors to evaluate our worship programme and made plans to become more involved in its delivery. During 2018/19, they led our whole school Harvest service and visited the Nantwich Foodbank to see what happens to our donations. They also led our whole school Harvest service in 2019/20, wrote a prayer to be used throughout the school and refreshed our Areas of Reflection around school. Since the pandemic, they have lead our harvest services, shared prayers during our Carols Services and re-wrote our school prayer.

OUR SCHOOL PRAYER

Dear Lord, thank you for our school,

where we feel your love.

You bless us with learning and celebrations, sports and music.

Thank you for our friends and all who care for us here.

Please bless every member of our school.

Help us to grow together in faith, hope and love.

In Jesus’ name, Amen
