WELCOME MEETING

Thanks to those parents who were available to attend the "Meet the Teacher" event on 12th September. It was lovely to see some familiar faces and some new ones! The welcome letter and Powerpoint presentation which I gave are here below for those who couldn't make it.  A paper copy of the Welcome Letter will be sent home with your child if you did not attend.

Curriculum & Class Info - Class 4

 

AUTUMN TERM

 

This term our topic is:

 China

 

We will be learning about many aspects of China, including its Geography. Where possible, we will link it with other areas of the curriculum such as Art, DT, ICT, History, RE, Literacy and Science.

 

RESIDENTIAL

Tattenhall Education Centre

Wednesday November 13th – Friday 15th

 

PE - Swimming on Mondays (September to November), PE on a Friday.

After Swimming has finished, PE will be on a Monday and a Friday.

 

Music – Wednesdays:

  • Wider Opportunities B flat group with Mrs McDonald and Mrs Acklam
  • Recorders - with Mrs Acklam.
  • Children in Folk Group also need instruments

Homework - Reading, Spellings and TT Rockstars.  Other homework given as required.  When written Homework is sent, it will be sent home in a homework folder on a Friday, to be returned to school by the following Wednesday.

 

 

SPRING TERM

 

This term our topic is:

The Tudors

 We will be learning about the life of people in Tudor times, as well as studying the lives of some famous Tudors.  Where possible, we will link it with other areas of the curriculum such as Art, DT, ICT, History, RE, Literacy and Science.

SUMMER TERM

 

This term our topic is:

 

World War 2 

We will be learning about what life was like for people and, in particular, for children during the Second World War. We shall be looking at evacuation and rationing, as well as some of the key events during the war. Where appropriate, we will link the topic to other areas of the curriculum such as design technology, art, literacy and science.

Trip to Stockport Air Raid Shelters and Museum
