Expansion Consultation

The Local Authority has a statutory duty to provide sufficient school places for children resident in its area. An analysis of the latest pupil forecasts has identified the need to provide additional primary school places in Nantwich in response to increasing pupil populations. The data produced indicates the need for an extra 105 school places (reception to year 6) which, if agreed, would provide 15 additional places per year group, implemented on a phased basis from September 2020.

A consultation document providing full details of the proposal, including the decision-making process and key dates, is published on the Council’s and school’s  website together with a link to the electronic survey response or a PDF form for you to feedback your views on this proposal. In addition a drop in session will be held  at the school on Thursday 3 May 4 – 5.30 p.m.  At this meeting a representative from the local authority and school will be available to talk about the proposal and seek views.

All feedback will be collated for consideration at a meeting of the Governing Body whereupon a decision can be taken on whether to proceed with the expansion. It is important to note that this is all subject to the usual section 77 requirements and relevant planning permissions.

 Feedback your views

All feedback received during the consultation period, which starts on 26 April  and finishes on 24 May, will be considered before a decision is made on the proposal. It is important to note that no decision has been taken at this stage.

We therefore urge you to visit the Council website at www.cheshireeast.gov.uk (in the section entitled ‘Have your say’), or the school’s website where you can read the consultation document and complete the feedback form before the closing date of 24 May.

If you have any questions about this letter please contact the Local Authority on 01270 686388

We look forward to receiving your comments.
